General Apology To All Babblers On Study I posted

Posted by Phillipa on March 12, 2009, at 12:43:04

I would like to openly apologize to any poster that I may have upset by posting that study on bipolar. Didn't mean any harm. I was hoping for discussion and debate as I feel not all the studies done by docs are accurate. Again my sincerest apologies . You have a right to be angry at me if I hurt you. I can't take it back but at least I can apologize to all. Had no intention of hurting anyone. Love Phillipa

Jan don't feel overly bad ok. You were posting, like I and others do, for general knowledge. Aside from people asking advice/sympathy and looking for help for their disorders, this place is also a dialogue. You put up a study to get people to interact and talk about it...you can't let someones perceptions of that get in the way and make you feel like youre walking on eggshells. You attacked no-one, you said nothing bad of anyone...Jan you never speak ill of anyone here (I understand why you feel bad though...you feel other peoples pain - so do I)...you are very kind and compassionate lady so don't feel bad about a study :o)

This is a mental health board but negative interpretation/perception is not your issue, it's theirs.

Pillipa,

I don't think an apology is necessary at all. I really appreciated your post which included some very important information. I think most people would agree. Thanks again for sharing this very important study with us.

Hi Philipa,

In my opinion, you did nothing wrong and having nothing to apologize for. If people get upset over something you post when it is respectful, that is their problem, not yours.

Frankly, I think this issue needs to be discussed more. I know someone who has developed diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol from years of AP use. I know causation doesn't equal correlation but come on, to just gloss over that the drugs have any impact as alot of these articles were doing is just fantasy based.

Anyway, people need to know that the long term use of meds can lead to serious side effects. If they still want to take them, that is their choice but to deny this can happen and blame it all on the person's mental illness simply is wrong. Frankly, I am getting tired of that argument and feel it is used to keep from accepting that fact that drugs have serious side effects.
