It has been suggested to me in an earlier thread to use a very low dose Risperidone (.25 - 1 mg) for anorgasmia caused by a combo of Abilify and Prozac.
Question is, does anyone on this board have any practical experience with Risperidone at this dose or for this usage? What effects and sideeffects can I expect?
Happy new year to everyone on PB.

Hi Viking,
I can see your point, as Risperidone antagonizes 5-HT2a, which is suppossedly good for libido. But Risperidone also surpresses dopamine, which is usually bad for sex drive.
A friend of mine takes 5 mg of Risperidone and has become totally impotent.
Just a hunch: why don't you drop the Prozac and stick with the Abilify? The latter was excellent for my libido, but then I'm female, so things could be different for you.
Have a good 2009!
Maria

I might have been the person you're refering to, but i noticed benefit from ripseridone.
AT a low dose it doesn't have the same effects on dopamine that a 5mg dose would have. stay away from those kinds of AP doses.

yes you are, I did not realize you had actually tried it. I thought it was only theory.

It improved depresion slightly, it decreased negative negative feelings about myself. might have improved sleep quality although thats hard to be sure. no other effects.
i was taking citalopram and was on and off bupropion too (which was also helpful for anorgasmia).
