Zyban is primarily used in Australia as an aid to stop smoking, has anyone in babble land found this to be true or helpful?
It's not classified as an anti depressant here, although I'm sure it's used off label for some people.
I'd also like you to read the Patent Information sheet. It will either horrify you or make you scream with laughter. Especially those of us who have been on the med go round for years. Oh and I'd like to know if it has a high withdrawal factor.
Read this guys, you wont believe it.......

Some things are much more dangerous in Australia, like amphetamine for instance.
Just as well we don't have any adult ADHD here.
Unless you know of a doctor?

sorry, I just save my pennies for my modafinil. I don't like amphetamines, never been prescribed them either.

Cactus read the link and believe it or not when working here the hospital wanted the staff to stop smoking so provided zyban. Now I went on Disability at that time so don't know what happened. But do know that wellbutrin made me look manic to the pdoc I was seeing then and ended up being hospitalized for a week. Bet they had some super dupper nurses and other staff when they were on it as supposed to be same as wellbutrin. Phillipa

I did not notice any withdrawal when i stopped taking it. Of course i didn't notice much when i WAS taking it, so that might effect things. Helped a bit with keeping at tasks and sexual problems from other ADs. As far as nicotine, i don't smoke, just use nicotine tabs occasionally to help focus at work, i didn't notice any interaction with the bupropion.

Yes, I had no desire to smoke when I was on Wellbutrin. The effect is hard to describe, but the best thing I can say is it made cigarettes taste bad (that's not quite it, but they were just kind of nasty in an ineffable way).
However, I am not a serious smoker. I have one a few times a week when stressed or anxious.
Wellbutrin is known for not causing withdrawal symptoms. My pdoc told me I could go cold turkey, and she was right.
