ok, i'm going through the meds (since my pdoc isn't) and i'm trying to not look hopeless.
there are three options that i could try. i don't think they'll be perfect but i want to weigh them out.
one is pristiq.(although Effexor was horrible for me) and it does have NE reuptake in there and that one concerns me.
if anyone is on it i would appreciate any comments (SE) and if you are BP or straight depression.*************************
also celexa or luvox.
i've surfed the archives
but many of them are quite old so i'd like some recent comments on anyone's experiences with either drug or if (ESPECIALLY IF) you've used both.and what were the side effects? weight, sexual, sleep?
i know lexapro is a 'cleaner' form of celexa, but i did cycle a bit on that one and i'm hoping that maybe i wouldn't on celexa.
please help me out here.

I gave both Celexa and Lexapro one year trials. My symptoms are generalized anxiety disorder with depression. For me, the Celexa alleviated my symptoms; the Lexapro did nothing for my symptoms. When I took Celexa, it was 20mg/day. It decreased both my anxiety and depression. It did give me a little weight gain (5 to 10 lbs), and there was the anorgasmia that comes with most SSRIs. When I took Lexapro, I was on 40mg/day (a high dose, I'm told). It decreased neither my anxiety nor depression. It made me gain about 10 lbs. However, there were no sexual side effects. Also, I'm a guy. If you are a woman, perhaps the side effects profile would be different. I guess with all these drugs, it's just the annoying process of experiment, experiment, experiment. Good luck. Hope my input helps!

Hi B2chica been on them both. Celexa dragged me down and extreme tiredness and that was also the same time found out had chronic lymes disease and the thyroid so could have been that. Also have and always will be on benzos. Now luvox was great the first time got up to 250mg no side effects at all. Still on benzos. But the first time in my life was up at about 6-7 am and had tons of energy and asked the doc if could be hypomanic she said no I just didn't know what it felt like to feel good. Lasted for about three weeks and didn't know the term then but must have pooped out. As from that point on could only tolerate small dose and to this day remain on 50mg of luvox with 15-20 of valium but I have a tolerance to benzos on them over 37 years. And it is the most sedating of SSRI's . No weight gain on either on theraputic dose. So if you've never been on benzos you might have very good results on it there is a long acting one out now. Hope this helped a tiny bit. Sorry about responses. Love Phillipa

i was on lexapro and i didn't gain any weight so i hope celexa will be the same, but i don't know abut luvox?
and since i have bipolar features will either one make me go manic/hypomanic?
