Took Wellbutrin XL 150 for years then offered the generic alternative Budeprion XL 150. Now I feel crazy again, can't sleep good, confused. Think twice before saving a few dollars when it comes to your mental health and how you react to your loved ones.

Its a case of some small percent are affected by the bindings in medications, and some aren't. Because they're all submitted with NDAs/ANDAs to the FDA for review.If you believe that you are adversely affected, you should report it online to the FDA adverse report system. That's one of the few ways the government will know how post-marketing results are occurring. I have seen some postings online regarding the agent more than usual.
One thing that also helps is getting the same generic drug brand that one always gets and insisting on that instead, and also if having to switch over to a generic, use up the original tablets in a back and forth method until you're rid of them.
And generic medicines in general really do save a lot of money -- I don't think the average person takes a "real" benzodiazepine since Xanax was the last in 1981 (well they tried a silly XR release recently). If you had to pay retail for Valium it would be ridiculous since the typical copay for such drugs runs $5-10.
I'm apprehensive -- but Seroquel expires in 2011. Maybe there will be something better in my regime by then, but my current insurance costs me $150 for any significant amount of it. It's already generic in Canada, although the savings aren't quite there yet in the final analysis.
Lamictal just became generic this month, which for the average person already on it probably won't make a significant difference, one hopes -- as for ramping it up, time will say.
It is an AED but though they all have to be marketed towards epileptics, the drug company mostly eyed towards psychiatric conditions. I think more people are on Depakote and other drugs for epilepsy, although Depakote itself expired this year and the company is pushing ER.

I had horrible results in one week on generic a few years ago maybe the real deal is better? Andy idea of the cost? Thanks Phillipa
