hello,
does anyone have very minor symptoms of tardive dyskenisia from low dose, short term treatment with antipsychotics? i am finding that after just a year or so of being treated with risperdal (1mg) and seroquel (25mg), both at low doses, i am experiencing some very slight twitching of my lips and rolling of the tongue. another person cannot see this. its very minor. my doctor tells me that it is very unlikely that the medication caused this. i think he is full of it.
i am very scared. i have been off the medication for several months now. it has not gone away. the doctor says its anxiety. this may be true but i believe it is the medication. has anyone else experienced this?
thank you.

No but can you get a second opinion? Don't know if he's right or wrong as I lick my lips and purse them from anxiety and pick my cuticles. So a second opinion is what I would suggest. And good luck Love Phillipa

If it's uncontrollable, it could be mild TD. I think lip twitching and tongue rolling are typical. I think antipsychotics can cause it, as can a lot of ADs (though it is rare as I understand).
If it's just something you do as a habit, sort of compulsively, but still intentionally, from stress (like I do), it's probably just anxiety.
