Hello there,
I was wondering if anyone has had decreased sweating when taking topamax. I am always looking for new ways to counteract the ssri sweating extravaganza I have with zoloft! Many thanks for your thoughts,
mogger

That's one of the potential side efects of topamax. I'm not sure if it;s a sure thing but there are other risks also...8% memory and word finding difficulties, 1 1/2 % kidney stones, etc. If it stops ur sweating too much, you run the risk of heat stroke if ur out and physically active and can't sweat to keep ur body temperature down.
Consider asking ur doc for a strong antiperspirant like drysol or switch to a different ssri.
Good luck!

William,
thanks for posting the response. Do you know of any ssri that is least likely to cause sweating?! Many thanks,
mogger

it's kinda hit or miss, maybe celexa (20-40mg)? that one tends to be a "cleaner" ssri with less other effects.
This is the end of the thread.
