Don't know much about it.
Can anyone share their stories, good or bad? also what side-effects have been bothersome?
S/E's that bother me most are ones that affect:
SEX, SLEEP, URINATION, IRRITABILITY, ANXIETYThanks, James

I just started Cymbalta 3 weeks ago and I find I feel emotionally even between depression and anxiety. The side effects I have had is sever constipation, sweating more, lack of appetite, dry mouth and it keeps me awake so I take it in the morning and that seems to help.
So far I love it because it seems to be working.

> Thanks, JamesI took it and it didn't help UNTIL I added Remeron. The combo of the two is called California Rocket Fuel and it helped me tremendously. This works theoretically with any SNRI (Effexor, Cymbalta, Pristiq e.g.) and Remeron. Cymbalta alone did nothing for me. It did not give me any of the side effects you mentioned though, which is great. It gave me one bad side effect and that was constipation. That went away in time. Good luck.

I have been on 60 mg since March and I am feeling the best I have since 2003! I combine it with 300 mg of Wellbutrin SR. I was taking 200 mg of Seroquel for anxiety, but it was making me eat like a pig so I stopped taking it. Luckily, the Cymbalta is helping my anxiety!
No problems with urinary retention which I have experienced on other medications. No problems achieving orgasm (unlike SSRIs).
Yup, it's working for me! I don't know if it would work as without the Wellbutrin, but I don't want to find out.

I have been taking Cymbalta 30 mg with Deplin with GREAT RESULTS for about 2 1/2 months. There was a great charge of energy and mood at the beginning which was almost hypomanic but when it subsided after a couple of days and then I began to think it had no effect. However, after about 3 weeks, I really felt wonderful. Great mood and energy. The best AD yet. It also eliminated chonic sacro-iliac pain - which was an unexpected bonus because the Lamictal and Prozac I was taking never helped the nerve pain. I had been on Prozac and Lamictal which was never as good, for about 4-5 years. I was always sleepy, couldn't consentrate, memory problems, but adequate mood until it pooped out. Before that I had tried every AD there is and all were just too sedating to be functional.
The side effects subsided over time as well. The major problem was dry mouth and constipation, I solved that with trying to eat more fiber, taking psyllium husk capsules , drinking a LOT of WATER and walking and other exercise which I now have the energy to do. The good part is that I LOST WEIGHT and lost my carb cravings. If you try it, don't quit too early, it takes time to kick in.

Very good for anxiety. To me it felt like a stronger version of Paxil. It's a very potent Serotonergic drug and the Norepinephrine may also add a bit of a sedative effect, as it does with some drugs. Definitely worth a try considering what you're looking for. It didn't work for me because I aggravated my spasmodic dysphonia. DRC

I took Cymbalta b/f I began the Wellbutrin I am on now. I took 60 mg and took it in the morning to help combat the insomnia. Still had to take Xanax at night to help get a little sleep. The only side effect I had that was hard to deal with was the dry mouth and the insomnia which never went away. My dr. finally changed me to Wellbutrin and I'm ok on it. I was originally put on Cymbalta for 2 reasons. Chronic nerve damage pain and depression with lack of energy. Maybe some chronic fatigue was invovled but both meds have help that. I have felt more like my old self since I was started on the Cymbalta, and though I am not on it any longer, I would recommend it especially if you have chronic pain or depression with lack of energy and anxiety to boot.
This is the end of the thread.
