"GEN-AMANTADINE"
not to far down the list.
says "semi solid" contents...?
it's a 100mg tablet (and gelatine too, unfortunately :( not vegan)
they are intended for b.i.d. dosing.
wanted to try rather low dose to titrate up. seems that tolerance to this drug develops quickly.
may just take one now if this is really the lowest dosage you can get, but studies seem to suggest that they can find 50mg or lower or scored 100s somehow.
a doctor with the last name Singer, a child ADHD specialist, seemed to stress that low-dose or slow titration was essential to success with the drug.
ughhhhh...

too high a dose of amantadine releases too much dopamine and then it overregisters presynaptically and it all becomes useless.
???
in drugs, the increasing "dopamine release" property seems quite different from the "dopamine reuptake/transporter blocking" property. or at least it seems with stimulants. when ritalin (methylphenidate) and dexedrine (D-amphetamine) are compared, dexedrine is often described as more effective while not as nerve racking. it's dopaminergic effects come not only the reuptake/transporter blocking, but also the increasing "release" property, which ritalin lacks.
i'm taking a 100mg capsule now. i'm figuring i may as well... (?)
seems all the formulary covers are (non-symmetrel brand) preparations that are 100mg "caps." (and some sort of ampoule or injectable or something. listed as 10mg/mL O/L, symmetrel brand included in this case.)
This is the end of the thread.
