Does any know if it is necessary to taper off Topamax? I am thinking of going at it medication free for a while. What is the worse thing that can happen. Any suggestions. Lexie

It is primarily an anti seizure medicine above all. I don't know for certain what it does to a person who does not have a history of seizures how it alters your brain chemistry but it could it possibly cause you to have severe seizures? It is a stong medication used for many things. I would ask your doctor a what if question or a pharmacist or a nurse on call might know the answer for you to do it anonomously. I would be very carefull. Good luck!

>You should really talk to a doctor first before doing anything because there are a lot of side effects associated with Topamax. But yeah you are suppose to taper off of it.
