Splitting high dose anti-depressants?

Posted by hansi555 on April 7, 2008, at 10:39:18

I really would like to hear from other users ezperiences in regards of splitting up high doses to get a more even mood.

I am experiencing mood swings, mood low in the mornings (not very deep), improving during daytime and good in the evening.
I am currently taking 55 mg Remeron in the evening, and concidering 45 mg in the evening and 10 mg during the day...

It sounds hormonal to me. What you describe is a common pattern seen with hypo-adrenalism, where cortisol is low much of the day but bounces back later in the day.

You would learn a lot by ordering an adrenal stress index test, which you can do yourself online, or through your doctor. You want to test saliva cortisol 4 times during a day to see the pattern and how it compares to a normal pattern.

You can try juggling doses and stuff, but if that doesn't help much, then please do not forget about the hormone cortisol. It controls everything your drugs are trying to do.

Thank you for your interest and answer!
Have not heard about this before.

How can this be ordered on-line?

Could you please explain more?
