What is it you're trying to get treated? If you add Clozapine, you'd be adding another anti-psychotic -- wouldn't that only address the psychosis?

A quick check of a drug interaction tool online shows no interactions between Seroquel and Clozapine. I'm still not sure what your reasoning is, though, to double up on antipsychotics if your psychosis is being treated adequately.

Are you maybe looking for a more effective anti-depressant? Maybe paroxetine is not the best choice for you, and another might be worth a try. Can you ask your doctor about that?

My advice is always to write down what sorts of symptoms are troubling you, and take that with you to your doctor. Saying something vague, like "I am depressed," might not be as helpful as saying something specific like, "I have no energy, and when I try to get myself motivated to do something, I often say 'oh, why bother' and lie down on the sofa." What I'm trying to say is that the more specific you can be with your symptoms, the more chance you can find an optimal solution.

Good luck

Jeroen always thought psychosis was your only symptom that bothered you? Didn't know about the depression. Good advise by Racer by the way. Phillipa

I'm not sure if you can or not -- any risk besides the necessary weekly bloodwork and discontinuation if low blood cell count occurs would be respiratory depression, because both are rather sedating medications.

But moreover if that is not a risk, it would be extreme sedation -- Seroquel, depending on the person can be relatively to fairly sedating, but its anybody's guess how sedating Clozaril can get, exceeding 50% of patient reports.

A better choice if your doctor thinks is warranted is to taper between Seroquel and Clozaril, with all the required blood tests, and eliminate the Seroquel. I don't know -- I'm not an expert on multiple antipsychotics but it seems that unless its a complicated case, one is usually better than two, because there are unknowns in what transmitters they actually work upon.
