Hi,
Someone suggested taking Ixel against anxiety. I would like to know if it's effective against this disorder. I don't suffer from depression (anymore). Anyone know?

Based on my own experience I would give ixel the thumbs up for anxiety, especially the social anxiety type.
My anxiety is weird. It is mild but troublesome. It starts around 4pm each day, mellows out by 8pm, but when I wake up at 5am it is full force almost to paranoia sometimes. Ixel in 3 days flattened out that entire curve, to where I felt energetic and yet calm all day and evening, slept deeper than in a very long time, and woke with zero anxiety. I was comfortable in social settings and people commented that I looked better.
As with any psych drug, mileage varies. One of the possible listed ixel side effects is anxiety. I guess that goes for about 90% of psych drugs though. Clinical studies and my own experience point to ixel as having a good potential for treating anxiety. In my opinion, it worked more thoroughly and with lightning speed compared to ssris. I had some of the typical start-up effects of mild anxiety and disturbed sleep for about 2 days.

I'd like to keep up with this thread. Anything that increases norepinephrine has generally made me much more anxious.

Hi, Maria - I've just finished my 1st week on Ixel and I can echo Bleauberry's observation that it seems to help with social anxiety - I am much chattier this week, with strangers as well as co-workers. But I'm also just happier, so that could be it as well.
Definitely the NE stimulation is STRONG on Ixel. My appetite is somewhat surpressed, I sweat a bit more than I used to when I exert myself, my heart sometimes seems to beat fast, standing up fast can make me a bit dizzy. Feels much like the early effects of wellbutrin (but happier), and like the wellbutrin I expect those side effects to pass. So if those sorts of physical effects nudge you into anxiousness, stay away from the Ixel.
However, unlike the wellbutrin, with Ixel I am sleeping GREAT, GREAT, GREAT and my emotional state is calm and content. So if your anxiousness is more triggered by emotions or lack of sleep, the Ixel might be perfect for you. Certainly worth a try, as it works within days and so you'll have your answer in days!

Yeah, atmlady said it very well. If the anxiety is purely physical, ixel might not be a top choice. Could be, but I would not be over the top optimistic about that. On the other hand, if the anxiety is emotional anxiety, social anxiety, worry, nervousness, stage fright, poor sleep, that kind of stuff, ixel could work real good and real fast.
It is a weird feeling. That is, having energy, feeling a bit peppy, and yet being calm and content at the same time. No, not a weird feeling. A welcome feeling.
This is the end of the thread.
