hey folks...
wondering if anyone out there--particularly women because of the hormone component--have experience with this combination--zyprexa, ptsd and whacky hormones.
in august, after 3 months off lamictal and progestin, i crashed harder than i've ever crashed before. i'll try to make the story short as it starts with childhood sexual abuse, moves through 9/11 when i was basically standing at the foot of the towers when the first plane hit, and goes on to treatment resistant depression in step with the ptsd.
soooo...august....whacky hormones, crash...now its november and i'm having a total hysterectomy next week....all agree the ovaries gotta go. in the meantime my pdoc believes that the crazy hormones actually created for me a trauma, which triggered ptsd...which she is treating with zyprexa (i'm at 5mg now).
other drugs i'm on:
-zoloft (down to 50 mg from 100mg)
-lamictal (75mg, highest pdoc wants to go since i've had the rash)
-clonopin (.5mg...hopefully can go off if the zyprexa works...)
-trazodone (50 mg)
-progestin...for the hormone thing.Wondering if anyone else out there has had this particular triangle experience of zyprexa, ptsd and the hormone thing...
And, what say you, good folk, about zyprexa and ptsd?

but keep in mind zyprexa has ALways been a saving grace med for me. but again it has begun to work it's charm.
good luck.also on (so far)

Zyprexa is the best for PTSD, which I have had for 12 years. Infact only zyprexa works for me. It is realy good at calming, and help sleep, plus anxiety. Also help with emotional pains, like in the stomack, which is realy bad off the zyprexa. Also the constant worry.
