Which is better? How bad are sex difficulties, for either? Do they work on anxiety? Is zoloft sedating?
I need to know for someone else that is currently taking Lexapro, and has problems with sex on this.

Hello Zyprexa,
I have been on Mirtazapine for six months, och this drug has not spoiled my sex life in any way.
Zoloft is an antidepressant that will lead to decreased sex drive.
I take Buspar twice daily to control my anxiety, but I would like a more potent drug.
My doctor has recommended Effexor, but this medicine has many negative side effects.Keep on smiling,

Lexapro) to help counteract sexual side effects like your friend is experiencing. The mirtazapine will be sedating so best taken at night.
Zoloft is generally one of the more 'activating' SSRIs with less chance of drowsiness than, say Paxil or Celexa. But we're all different.

I've tried all the ssris. They all hurt my sex in one way or another. The least offensive was prozac. Second least offensive was lexapro. The worst were zoloft and paxil.
I never liked zoloft. It made me feel bad right from day one. It did however shut down my anxiety the very first day. Remeron was decent for evening anxiety after dosing, but the norepinephrine component increased anxiety in the morning.
Remeron was ok but I never got over 15mg. It was mainly a sleep aid and an augmentor of prozac. As an augmentor at that dose, it really didn't help much. For sex it might have helped a wee little bit, though the sedation kind of muted that. I took remeron for a long time and the morning hangover never went away. Heavy sedation lasted all day for at least a month, and after I got used to it the sedation still lasted well into the afternoon.
But for some zoloft is a miracle. For some remeron is a miracle. You know how it is. You can hear from a hundred different people what these drugs were like to them, but it is no indication whatsoever of how they would be with you.

But its a start! How do you think doctors decide on which drugs to treat thier patients with? EXPERIENCE.
This is the end of the thread.
