Went off of Lexapro 20 mg a month ago to try Effexor....no good! back on 10 mg of Lexapro. Hoping to avoid some of the introductory side effects thinking it may not be totally out of my sytstem?? Particularly the sweating. I sweat like a pig on Effexor, but don't remember sweating on Lexapro. Went off Lexapro after checking into hospital and they took me off and put me on the Effexor. I think the Lexapro worked, but was diluted by rampant drug use...opiates and weed...thoughts? thanks!

As long as you titrated slowly off the effexor, the transition should be smooth onto the lexapro. I just did the same thing and the only side effect that was experienced was dry mouth and a little tiredness. Good luck!

thanks for you reply...im just wondering if only being off for a month, the introuction this time may take effect quicker?? went off cold turkey about a month ago...could it still be lingering in my system...maybe to make the initial side effects less severe?? thx!!!
