Hi,
Since introduction of Cymbalta a few years ago,it was thought it would be a major success and will push Effexor from themarket.
Well, when I look at posts @ psychobabble and many others,it seems that EffexorXR is getting even more popular with high rates of success, while Cymalta was talked about much less and with no great success storie.
I'm one of those who tried both and found major differences between them . Cymbalta sedated me,made me apathetic, while Effexor, although had some annoying effects in the begining,it really made a huge difference to my anxieties, and activated me and really felt very close to my true self more than any ther.
What do you think

Effexor has such bad side effects/withdrawal for some people, it seems like a toss up. It did work for me, but a lot of side effects. I actually worried too little and did some stupid things. Withdrawal was terrible when I got off. From reading the bored it seems to work for anxiety at least, as far as i can tell.

Effexor XR did relieve my anxiety, but that's a no brainer; I was high as a kite. Heart pounding, raised BP, sweating, eyes dialated, couldn't sleep... but hey, I wasn't anxious! Not hardly worth it. I haven't tried Cymbalta. I don't know if it would be any good for me.

Effexor did seem to help with my anxiety and a bit with my depression.
Cymbalta made my anxiety go sky high and I don't know why.
