Effexor side effects (yes...another one)

Posted by jaamey76 on April 11, 2007, at 21:03:37

Hi,

I've been on Effexor XR for about 2 years now, and I am wondering if anyone else has experienced these so called "brain shivers" while on the medication and not going through withdrawal. My dose was bumped up a couple of months ago from 150mg to 225mg, and I have been experiencing this particular side effect a lot, even before my dose was bumped up. The only info I can find is related to withdrawal symptoms. I take my meds every morning around 7am, and try to stick to that time 100% although there may be times when I take it an hour or two later. I am definitely not experiencing withdrawal.

YES! I experienced the same thing!!! It only went away once I lowered the dose. People on here were telling me it possibly had something to do with blood pressure changes??? I don't remember exactly....

I am not on Effexor, but I am on ultram ( which I think hits similar neurotransmitters).

I've had the brain shivers twice as well. I wondered if it was seizure?

It felt like someone grabbed a hold of my brain, and just shook it inside my head.

VERY weird experience..

Could it be a seizure?
