I have been taking parnate for about a year now with a moderate response. I starting feeling depressed a few days ago, which hasn't happened in a long time. I looked at my pills and noticed that they are not visually the same as they have been for the past year. I got this refill about a week and half ago and the pills are darker in color and parnate is not written in black letters as it has always been. I got them from the same pharmacy as always and the bottle says they are made by the same company. It leaves me wondering if glaxo smith kline has changed the visual outside of parnate or perhaps the pharmacy got them from a bad source? Has anyone had a similar experience?

It's possible the pharmacy screwed up and gave you the wrong medication.
Try to figure out what it is.

This happened to me before. Both are made by Glaxo Smith Klein. The Parnate written in black has sugar in the formulation, whereas the red tablet does not include sugar. This can all be found in the full prescribing information. Both are brand name, GSK Parnate.

Your correct, and the latter will prob end up being the only one available in due time.
The generic parnate is extremly visualy different so no need to worry there.
Im angry because i just brought mine home,3 months worth, and its generic when i made special note i want brand. After calling i was told by my pharmacy that brand is on back order. So now since i "dipped into" the 250 quantity did i taint it so i can inquire in a week or so about getting the brand, and im stuck with the generic when a time soon will come when they can get the brand, what was i too do?I needed the med,ask for a partial?Oh well ill be calling them tommorrow.
This is the end of the thread.
