Finally I have run out of options. Tried all SSRIs, Tricyclics but none of them works well.Have heard Xanax can be used as an antidepressant. I am willing to take the risk of addiction. Can anybody tell me what's the antidepressant dose of Xanax?
Is it 3 mg daily? or more than it?
Please don't tell me to try combinations. I am already on Prozac+Amisulpride+Losartan+Tegretol
If Xanax can fix my depression, I don't care dependence. Afterall dependence is better than depression itself.
PLS

I take 2mg Xanax. I notice the anti depressant effects from this dose. I dont know if I will build a tolerance (most likely) that will end these qualities. But for now I love it. Good Luck.

Hey Meanreds are you on it mono too and for how long? It has mild mood elevating properties but is not an antidepressant but they didn't work so it's xanax for now for me too. Do you find yourself dreaming and getting angry or is this because I gave up the valium and luvox? thanks Phillipa

I'm also taking lamictal and seroquel. I switched from klonopin to xanax about 2 weeks ago. The transition went very smoothly. I dont get mad alot anymore, just frustrated sometimes. I do daydream, and I dont really mind it. Being in my own world is calming sometimes.
I've only had valium a couple of times. My mother had cancer and I was flipping out (of course). I calmed down enough to be around death, thats where valium helped in the past.
I'm not sure what luvux is. But, when I tried giving up klonopin cold turkey in the summer, I was a pure wreck.

I dont know if xanax gives my body temp a boost, or not. But, the past several days after I take it I feel warm. Fever-like feeling. Im usually a degree under normal body temp, always have cold hands and all that stuff. Now I'm at 99.5. Hmmm. Maybe just a flu. I welcome feeling warmer, I hope I dont have the flu.

Thanks for info,Karen
