Cranial Electrical Stimulation. Has anyone actually tried this for anxiety, does it work?? Am fairly sceptical but am running out of options so would be willing to try it if people have had a genuinely positive experience with it. It is supposed to work by passing a fairly low current through the brain (by attaching electrodes to earlobes) which stimultes neurotransmitters. It was approved a loooong time ago and not many studies have been done on it since; seems to me that if it was of any use, it would have somehow permeated the market by now!

Tried it a couple of years ago, it claims to help with anxiety, depression, insomnia and pain, did nothing for anything. Cecilia

I've heard lots of good things about it on the web. Supposedly you only have to use it for a little while and then the effects are permanent. Unfortunately the units are really expensive - you can get a crappy one for about $220. And you need a prescription for it. That's about all I know. But I really want to try it (mainly to confirm my skepticism; it seems too easy!)
