Hi,
About a month ago I started taking Remeron at 30mg, although seem to have more physical energy, still depressed, still have the feeling of not being inside my own body, still lots of agitation and edginess, still tight sensations in my jaw and back of my neck.
So about 5 days ago I upped the dose to 45mg, the anxiety has gone but I still have that feeling of not being inside myself, still have anhedonia and I still feel very morbid and morose and have this sort of doomed, sad, bad feeling inside. Does anyone have much experience with this drug, how long should you have to wait on 45mg before it kicks in?
I feel as though it's not going to kick in but not sure if I should give it a bit longer at 45mg.
Can't ask my psychiatrist because he doesn't seem to be talking to me anymore and anyway I don't trust his opinion :-(
Thanks in advance for any responses.
Denise

Eh i hate to say it but maybe an NRI isnt for you. The time i was on remeron was in conjunction with effexor. Talk about neurtransmitter overload...

I was put on l5mg for sleep . But it didn't help me sleep so I went off of it. Again no side effects. I'm begining to think I'm the only person on this board that has no side effects when going off a med. Love Phillipa

Phillipa,
I've been curious about Remeron/Mirtazapine because it's supposed to help reset the HPA axis but then I read that it basically "cuts the brake cable" for NE boosting it way up. Did you feel wired after taking it or any type of NE surge?

At l5mg I felt nothing. I heard it's the higher doses that give energy. Love Phillipa

If the Remeron isn't working for you by now, I would switch meds. I had no success with this med even at 90 mg. Switched to Lexapro and Wellbutrin and I am tapering of the Rem. This is working for me.
