Well I thought I'd try and post some positive news....its quite refreshing to see companies helping people with mental illness. However, the lady in the story got her depression after a serious car-crash...I wonder if it would have been the same if it just came out of the blue? Or if she were a chronic, long-term (ie all adult life) sufferer? IMHO, I doubt the company would be so sympatheic. They'd probably see you as more of a 'risk', so perhaps more likely to fire you. Depression, particulary out of the blue or with no accepable obvious triggers, is more seen as a 'charactor flaw' (which of course its not) I think. Its somehow more acceptable if there is a clear cause of the depression, eg a serious car accident. Which is sad, it shouldn't be so!
Anyway..at least its progress in the right direction...

I agree. Depression with a clear cut reason is acceptable to a lot of people. Love Phillipa
