Sexual side effects / Lexapro?

Posted by TrishP on August 31, 2006, at 9:18:31

My doc has me on 10 mg of Lexapro. So far so good. I do feel a little lazy - but no anxiety. I also noticed that I have no interest in sex.

I've heard people taking smaller doses of Prozac (10mg) and not having the sexual side effects.

Has anyone dropped their Lexapro to 5 mg and had more interest in sex?

Celexa, Zoloft, Effexor and Lexapro decreased sexual abilities for me. No O possible! I can't remember if the Effexor made me lazy but the other 3 did. Yes, I even tried to drop the Lexapro to 5 mg. No help in the sexual area. Then I tried going without any antidepressant, got the sexual taken care of but wasn't functioning well. 2 months ago started on 10 mg Prozac, feel better and still have good sexual feelings. But I also have to take clonazepam to cover the anxiety. The two seem to make a good combo. Actually, I have been on the clonazepam for about 8 years. Just need the prozac to augment it (I think.) Another day, another week, month, etc. you could possibly get a different response from me. Oh well, hope this helps you. Jane
