Why is it no matter what antidepressant I take I have a constant shaking leg. My leg bounces under my desk all day long!?
What causes this to happen?

hi Trish,
This might be a sign of akasthesia. it's kind of like restless movement, and can be a side effect of many psych drugs, including anti-depressants. Have you mentioned it to your pdoc?Does it bother you a lot? do you also feel the need to get up and walk around and pace a lot? I got that a little bit at the beginning, maybe first 2-3 weeks of cymbalta treatment, and usually get the thumper-foot tapping going on when I'm over-caffeinated.
Maybe try cutting back on coffee?
sorry no better hints. but mention it to your pdoc, especially if it bothers you.

I had true restless legs nocturnally on Cymbalta.
Because I was anxious to add a dopaminergic agent for augmentation, I went onto Requip (ropinirole) (similar to Mirapex) and the restless legs went away entirely on low doses of Requip. Also, it did help with the low motivation depression symptoms.
This is the end of the thread.
