Hi
I suffer from migraines but my doctor won't prescibe me anything for them; says I need to see a neurologist but I can't afford that.
I've come into possession of a few Oxycontin 160s, and am wondering how I can cut them into a safe dose. The pills are small and coated and so, I'd appreciate some advice.
I am also taking Zoloft 25mg, and Wellbutrin XL, if that is of any relevance.
Thanks
Abe

Hello
1. The starting dose of OxyContin is usually 10mg every 12 hours. You must NOT take a 160mg tablet.
2. OxyContin tablets must not be cut, it damages the controlled release system.
3. OxyContin is rarely an appropriate treatment for migraine. There are many other treatments available. Most primary care doctors ought to be able to treat migraine. I think you might need to go to a different doctor.
Kind regards
Ed
