Which one is bipolar affective disorder? Or are they both that? I haven't been given a number to add on to my bipolar dx, it's just bipolar for now.

They both are. Affective, in medical terms, means "mood". Hence they are both *mood* disorders.

Try not to worry, the European discription doesn't have one - it is just Bipolar Affective Disorder. If you've suffered from severe mania with possible psychitoc symptoms, you're likely to be classified as bipolar 1. If your mania has been fairly mild, eg not requiring hospitalization and no psychotic symptoms, its likely to be 2.
