i've decided to try neurontin for my anxiety
i'm a first-time user of neurontin

question --- does neurontin start to work right away for anxiety (like after taking the first dose) like benzos like xanax do, or does the anti-anxiety effect of neurontin take days/weeks to happen like with the SSRIs?

Well in my experience it really doesn't work like anything else. It isn't an immediate fix...it is more subtle. But it DOES work, especially to boost the effect of other meds. I took it with Marplan and it worked amazingly well.
