I too can complain about the sleepiness that comes with EFFEXOR XR. I've been transitioning from Prozac to EFFEXOR, so this side-effect may be due to either. I'm in third week, down to 20mg flouxetine (Prozac) and up to 75 mg Effexor, but if this sleepiness doesn't let up I'm going to bail. By fourth week I'm up to 150 mg, no Prozac, and that's full dose. I think it helps with O/C. Also weight loss.

When I began Effexor xr a few months ago, it made me sleepy, but after about two months it kept me awake more than ever. Give it a chance, the sleepiness might go away.
