I just don't know. I don't think I took them last night.
Is something bad going to happen if I didn't take my 50mg Celexa and 0.75mg Risperdal last night?
I wonder how many times I've forgotten in the past?
Aaaahhh, I'm freaking out because of exams! That's probably why I forgot.

If you did forget them last night, you'll grow four extra arms within the next hour, and...
WAIT!
No, that's wrong...
Really? There's no real problem with forgetting once, but you're right to be concerned about how many times you do forget. It's better to be consistent, for so many reasons.
Here's an idea: get one of those daily pill box things, with the days of the week on the top, fill it every week, and then you'll be able to see whether you've taken your pills or not. Do it today, Deneb, and you'll never have to worry about this again.
Think how much time that will free up for worrying about other things! lol That might just me me, huh?
Hope that helps.

That's a pretty good idea.
I always thought those pill boxes were for old people who couldn't keep track of all their meds. I suppose they are also good for anyone who is absent-minded about taking their meds.
I'll go buy one tomorrow.
Thanks for the idea

ROFL! I've been using one for about 4 years. I'm 46, which I know is somewhat *old* to you, since I could easily be your mom...but hey, they say 60 is the new 40, so does that mean 40 is the new 20 and I can consider myself *actually* 26...?....I think NOT! ;-) I suppose at one time, I probably thought that, too, about the little boxes. It's a natural thing to presume, I think. But...(see below)...
>I suppose they are also good for anyone who is absent-minded about taking their meds.
Yup. That is one exellent reason. For me, it was that I was already taking a vitamin, calcium supplement, and a couple other natural-type things. Then, my regular doc added 2 blood meds back in 2002. Later, an AD for a while, and now, just the BP meds, Strattera for ADD, some naproxen to fight joint inflammation and some vitamins/supps. Well, any way you look at it, those are a lot of pills. So who wants to mess with all those bottles? Not me. With the daily boxes, you fill it once a week and you're done. No reading labels, no getting distracted and maybe taking two of something, or none at all if you forget what you're doing....
So, it eliminates the bottle-handling hassle (and its inherent margin for error) as well as being great for absent-mindedness.
Another thing I do, is each Sunday (or whatever day you fill it) I can check the number of refills on the rx'd things as I open the bottles. If I'm on the last refill I will *always* call in a refill right then and there (my pharmacy has an automated system you can use 24/7.) No running out because I didn't notice.
Come join us plastic pill-box users, Deneb! Hey, with your artistic talent, I'll bet you could decorate yours and make it all beautiful. And remember, older is quite often wiser, too!

ps - oh and Deneb,...if you haven't done this by then...

...well, gee, there just might be something in my bag for you in Toronto....;-)

Great ideas here from the earlier posters. Racer is always wise. I carry a pocket sized pill container, plus I have an extra small stash in the glovebox of my car if I forget the pill container! :-)
If you forgot a dose of celexa and/or risperdal, you might feel a little bit of weirdness from it. Maybe a vague leg cramp, unusual slight weakness, a distant hint of the flu, maybe a tad bit of unexplained anxiety, but nothing major. It really takes 2 or 3 days without meds for serious stuff to start happening.

Yikes, I forgot to take my meds *again*! This time the Wellbutrin.
I wonder if I should buy one of those pill containers...I mean, it's not like I'm going to be taking meds for the rest of my life...

They're cheap. I use one. And who knows if you are going to be on meds the rest of your life? At this point, does it matter in relation to right now? If something like a pill sorter helps you to remember, and it doesn't cost much, I say go for it.
