hi,
i consultated a second pdoc today to get a second opinion on my healt condition.
he put me on seroxat.
I read a lot of stuff about seroxat causing brain damage and people thinking they ruined their lives by taking it.
I have the box but i'm afraid to take it because of these stories.
Someone can give me some personal stories ?
thanks

i dont know about brain damage, but paxil/seroxat can cause some pretty hardcore withdrawal. All antidepressants have side effects, and the SSRIs have several unique to them. If **YOU** decide that the risks of an SSRI are worth taking for any benefit you might get, then take it (really, I think only YOU can make this determination). What might help is going for an SSRI with a longer half-life--zoloft, prozac, etc. will all last longer, and therefore have less severe withdrawal effects (although there may still be withdrawal). Good lucK!
