I got this link from Alternet.org----
http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/story/0,,1740928,00.htmlIt discusses lowering fear of spiders with cortisol injections. Toward the end of the article, the researchers are using injections for social phobia... it is the exact opposite of what I thought helped (ie lowering cortisol.) Interesting.

I believe the best way to control fear of spiders is education and familiarization. I collect Tarantulas (live of course) of which the largest is over 7 inches in length. I am much less "afraid" of spiders since I started collecting. An unnatural fear should be treated with therapy but most people still will maintain a healthy "Respect" for spiders and Scorpions etc. because some can be harmful.

Some call this flooding. being around what frightens you the most. For me it's going out into large stores. But I don't like spiders either. Hope I dont have nightmares about them Love Phillipa
