Ok - so my doc said it is ok to take Klonopin with Wellbutrin.
What I am wondering is, would it be better to take Buspar instead of Klonopin?
Buspar does acutally work for me and anxiety.
When I take Klonopin alone, I have a tendency to get depressed.
I want the "up" feeling from the Wellbutrin and to get a sex drive back. But, I want to add something to ward off the anxiety.
Which do you prefer? Is one safer than the other?
Wellbutrin & Klonopin
or
Wellbutrin and Buspar

Hey Trish,
I am also on Wellbutrin and Klonopin, I take 450 Wellbutrin and 1 mg of Klonopin in the morning with it and 1/2 Klonopin in the afternoon.
I have never tried Buspar so I can't compare. But the Klonopin has really changed my life for the better... i used to suffer from massive amounts of anxiety from when I drove, to social interactions, etc. The Klonopin immediately helped with this and I feel that it has helped my depression ( by getting rid of the anxiety).
Everyone is different, but like I said that combo works well for me. Good luck!
PS - my p-doctor said that you have to take more than 2 mg a day for the Klonopin to be addictive , so that eased my mind about that issue also

I take 2mgs klonopin and am looking for a second med to go with it to help improve my mood. klonopin worked way better than busbar for me and from the research I've seen busbar has had mixed results particularly with social anxiety. I was real tired on busbar. But if it works for you, great!
I've tried wellbutrin and many other anti depressants that haven't worked real well. So on the anxiety side I'd suggest klonpin. If wellbutrin works for you great, many people like the fact they don't gain weight on it and can give you energy.
Another option to consider is provigil if depression isn't the main thing your looking for from an anti depressant. I found I can take it as needed, just days I'm a little dull or need energy.

I vote for the Klonopin. It works very well for me and I think it's an ideal way to augment the Wellbutrin. Good luck!

Only thing is if buspar works for you then that's what I'd take as buspar to my knowledge is not controlled and nonaddictive. Just my two cents. Fondly, Phillipa ps I've heard that one you take a benzo buspar doesn't work.
