> Longtime listener, first time caller. It is a good thing, xterra, that you come forward at this time. I'm glad you did.
Provigil (modafanil) profoundly disturbs liver function. All the typical drug metabolizing pathways are affected.
What you are likely to find is that the apparent effect of the Paxil will be increased, as if you increased the dose. Moreover, side effects, even without a sense that the main effect has increased, will almost certainly increase in intensity.
You also be aware, as your gender was not made clear, that Provigil will reduce the effectiveness of oral birth control. If you are on a low-dose product, you should consider taking the dose up a notch. And/or adding a backup method.
Don't be a stranger. We're good people. <wink>

I have been thinking of stopping the paxil- not really doing it for me. The provigil does give me the motivation to deal w/the world.

Lar, Providgil is that bad on the liver? I had been thinking of suggesting it because I am so tired lately and unmotivated. Fondly, Phillipa

Not *bad* for the liver. It just changes the rate at which it processes stuff. If you're used to your drugs, whatever they might be, and you add in Provigil, you can get some side effects return as an example, or maybe a dose needs adjusting. That's all.
