Emme (in a previous thread up the page) has had a good long lasting response with low dose memantine.
I wanted to ask all babblers about memantine. Here's why. It has been shown to have antidepressant effects, either as anecdotal evidence or as secondary effects to treating something else. It has been theorized as being a possible treatment for tinnitus (ringing in the ears) because part of its NMDA antagonist action is at the hair cells in the hearing system.
Since I have both depression and tinnitus, and since meds that make my depression worse usually tend to make my tinnitus worse as well, memantine looks interesting.
Any comments much appreciated.
This is the end of the thread.
