Weird Abilify episode last night

Posted by theo on November 16, 2005, at 22:10:56

Last night I had to run outside and winterize a faucet in the freezing wind for just a few minutes. I was squating up and down several times and when I came in, I felt like I had the spins, as being drunk, almost to the point of throwing up, and no, I don't drink. It scared me a bit, but seems I've read somewhere antipsychotics can have this effect sometimes from getting up to fast, etc.

Anyone had anything like this, "bedspins," or feeling sea sick on Abilify? It didn't stop for about 30 minutes and today I felt okay but scared it was going to happen again!! Thank god it didn't.

it might have been b/c of the change in temps (outside vs inside) ALL antipsychotics--abilify included-- interfere with your body's ability to properly regulate internal temperature...this is people on neuroleptics die of heat stroke at a higher rate than those not on antipsychotics. I think it works both ways--its harder for your body to stay warm, and its harder for it to cool off.
