Anyone take Lyrica?

Posted by kerria on October 12, 2005, at 19:02:19

Hi. i've heard from my dr that Lyrica is like a new neurontin and am trying it for nerve pain with the pain meds. What is it like?
Is it as sedating as Neurontin? Anyone have headaches, side effects?

Thank you so much for your thoughts.

Take care,
kerria

I'm Lyrica for anxiety with depression. It's much stronger than neurotin so you don't have to take as large of a does, therefore less side affects. I started low at 50mg's a day and am up to 200mgs. Thought there is some sedation that comes each time I go up, it goes away withing 3 days or so. My doctor said that would be the case. I'm going up to a max of probably 450 mgs, but not sure where they would bring you to for pain. I do notice I sleep better and wake up earlier than I did before (which I like). It seems to have a lot of positive side affects such as improved sleep, mood elevation, anxiety benefits, not to mention what you're taking it for. Good luck!

Had high hopes for this after reading study. Was switching from 2MG day of Klonopin. The first three days at 100MG were quite uncomforable with headaches etc. They went away but the cognitive impairment was extreme. Short term memory gone and felt tired and wired at the same time. I just gave up after 11 days and it feels great to be off it. First day at 150MG was hard to function or drive. I work full time and felt like an idiot.
