My Strange cocktail! Any suggestions??

Posted by ZenTen on August 30, 2005, at 13:03:12

Hi. I have very very severe adult ADD. To the point I am on diability, as well as social anxiety, GAD and of course depression. I have other problems far too numerous to get into but those are my issues, in a nutshell.

After MUCH trial an error.

I have found Ultram/Tramadol is the only thing that helps my depression by 40% or so. I have tried them all except MAOIs, which I can't unfortunatly take with the Ultram. I know Ultram is addictive. I have weighed the benefits and cons.

Lexapro and Remeron never helped. Prozac was ok.
I am Now taking:

300-350mgs of Ultram a day

Paxil 10mgs (just started week ago) for social anxiety and hopefully augmentation. (cant tolerate high doses)

Restoril (temazepam) up to 45mgs at night. And occasional Xanax for panic

Awaiting approval from insurance for Desoxyn (methamphetamine) I can't tolerate other stimulants. I used to be able. Now, for some reason they make me tired and VERY depressed. They used to make me: happy, motivated and undepressed, now for some reason, they literally reversed themselves on me!

We are hoping the Desoxyn will be better than the others in this respect.

Any opinions? Or Augmentation techniques?

Yeah, I have a suggestion. Don't worry too much about the addictive potential of Ultram, not that I've been hooked on it, but I imagine from my experience with other opioids that it will be quite manageable to give up.

My complaint about Desoxyn is that it is so long acting, and therefore not useful to take at night, but I only find the first couple of hours any good with amphetamines.
