When I took Celexa/citalopram several years ago, I noticed that I was unable to stand up straight no matter how hard I consciously tried to have good posture. This happenened regardless of the dose and regardless of whether citalopram was combined with more activating medicines. It seemed as if the ssri-induced apathy permeated my entire being, physically, mentally and emotionally. Does anyone know the actual physical mechanism that might have caused this problem?

I've just noticed that when my head feels vertical it's actually slighty to the left. Weird. It's not straight on pictures either.

Hi ed,
Do you mean that your head tilts to the left when you're on a particular medicine, or is it always that way regardless of whether you're on medicine or not? And does it actually TILT to the left or TURN to the left? I've read that some people who tend to turn to the left more than to the right or straight ahead, actually have a deficiency of dopamine receptors on the left side of the brain. I will try to dig up the reference for that.

I'm not sure, I've been on SSRIs forever.

It tilts to the left.

Sounds interesting :-)

Hi Ed and Sarah,
Since our bodies have serotonin receptors ubiquitously, it is possible that you are getting extra serotonin in places that don't control your mood (i.e., perhaps in areas that control proprioception, which is just a fancy word for "where your body is in space"). Your body may just think it is in different positions than it is due to a little extra serotonin.
