some people? Is it just a matter of needing to use a higher dose the second time? Or, is Paxil of those drugs that works well (for some) the first time, but is not effective if it is stopped and started again at a later date.

Tamarra, I wish I knew. The first time I took an AD it was paxil l0mg with xanax. I was sick as a dog for around 3months, but then felt fine. When off it slowly due to zaps tiny pieces. The next time I tried it it just didn't work and no other one does either. Fondly, Phillipa

I had the same experience with paxil and later with zoloft. I think the whole med thing is so much more an art than a science - there are just things we won't understand.
Right now I'm trying celexa for the second time, but I figure that there may bbe hope, as I am also on lithium this time around.
Have you considered augmenting the paxil with a mood stablizer?
Sorry you are going thru this....it sux
