Hey Everyone,
If someone takes a medication and gets insomnia does that mean you are in a mild hypomanic or mixed state? I have read several pdoc support this idea.
Thanks in advance.

I would say a resounding NO. Prozac for instance, is notorious for causing insomnia as a side effect. It is as much a side effect of the medication as say sexual dysfunction.
Insomnia can be a sympom of mania, but drug induced insomnia is not conclusively mania.

What if they just have insomnia without taking a medication? Is that one of the symptoms of depression (cause or result)?
