Reboxetine/Edronax - one week on

Posted by Meri-Tuuli on July 24, 2005, at 13:39:56

I thought that I'd just post some of my experiences with the NARI reboxetine/edronax, as there was precious little in the archives when I was searching for it.

Well, I'm currently taking 1mg in the evening and morning, although with 10mg of celexa in the evenings. I am slowly tapering off the celexa and ramping up the reboxetine.

I am switching meds because I was utterly fed up with the lethargy and apathy and general sleepiness that I got with celexa. Okay it did help with the aniexty and with the depression.

Well, so far so good with the reboxetine - the first couple of days excess sweating, slightly spaced out, (but think this was related to the celexa withdrawal) and I kept waking up in the night. Also when I stand up too quickly I get dizzy but I have always had this (I'm a 5'10" F - and I actually add salt to things in an attempt to rise my blood pressure!) . Apparently it is a side effect of the reboxetine as well. The side effects have subsided after just a week.

The benefits - I guess its too early to tell, although I have noticed that my concentration has increased alot. I can concentrate at work! I was alittle down yesterday, but the day before that I took a really high dose multivitamin B complex, which may have caused it.

I guess also these things take two weeks or more to work, so I've promised myself that I'll keep it up for at least a month.

Take care all you lovely Babble-folk.

Good to hear from you Meri

Hey Meri

I'm glad your keeping us informed about your Reboxatine trial, and also that your at least doing OK

The drug has a bad reputation for some reason
I think part of the reason might be that people start with to high a dose

Keep posting
Good luck

Hiya!

I'm so glad your concentration has improved. Reboxetine seems to improve cognitive performance :-)

That's what happens when drugs aren't available in the US!

I'm really glad that you're tapering the Celexa, it makes a big difference.

Hi. That's terrific that you're doing well on Reboxetine and are able to concentrate at work. I also think it's good that you've stayed at the lower dose of 1 mg. I believe that the reason a lot of people have trouble with this med is that they start at too high a dose. It may turn out that you can stay at the lower dose and that would probably cut down a lot on the side effects. Please let us know how you're doing.
