i was very stable on Abilify, Lamictal, Seroquel, and Trileptal. Then my family doc added Topamax for migraines. At first I was just very tired, but within a couple of days i realized that it was more than tiredness, it was depression. i have also been having paranoia and derealization--the closest i have ever felt to being psychotic. could it be that i am simply on too many anticonvulsants? i see my pdoc tomorrow-but i am wondering in the meantime what is happening to me. this is unbearable to say the least. anybody have any clue as to why this mix of meds would do this?

I don't know about that combo of types of meds, but I do know that Topomax in addition to Nardil made me more depressed, too. I had to go off of it.

I would definitely tell your doctor about this. I took Topamax at a low dose for 1 1/2 months. I have never been so depressed in my life. My doctor was surprised by this because he had never seen it before in other patients. But depression and psychosis are both possible side-effects of Topamax. I have no idea why this is happening to you, but my own experience with Topamax was frightening to say the least.
