Husband took Trileptal l50mg and Can't wake up!

Posted by Phillipa on May 30, 2005, at 17:30:43

I'm worried my husband hasn't been sleeping well and took a l50mg trileptal tablet last night to see what it would do. Now he's been sleeping all day and acting wierd and slurring his words. I'm worried. I took it for a while and it didn't do a thing to me. Could this be responsible? Thanks Phillipa

Hi PJ,

I expect the side effects will be gone by tomorrow. Drowsiness and slurred speech are common anticonvulsant side effects.

If he hasnt been on any kind of mood stabelizer before, I guess he could have a reaction like that. As you know Phillipa, I started taking trileptal, (but I waited until the weekend in case i had side effects like that) but I didnt..could be because i have been on lamictal and my body is used to it....
