Agressive on Wellbutrin?

Posted by TrishP on May 23, 2005, at 6:59:34

I love the antidepressant effects of Wellbutrin. I'm only taking 150mg. XL. But sometimes I feel kind of agressive and mean. I know it is the Wellbutrin, but I don't know what else to take. SSRIs make me feel sluggish and doped.

Would Effexor be a good choice? I though maybe they would be a little similiar?

Anyone switch from Wellbutrin to Effexor?

I'm taking 100mg Wellbutrin along with 75mg Effexor, and it seems to be working quite well. I don't have any aggressive effects, and while I don't know why the two seem to work well in combination, my anxiety is lessened, depression is mostly gone, and apathy (a big side effect of Effexor) is dealt with. I do feel a little flat emotionally, but that's better than the swings. You might ask your doctor about the combo.
