is it safe to smoke cigarettes while taking effexor xr? Also will it take longer for the meds to take effect while smoking?

I smoked while on Effexor, and every other med ive been on. My psychatrist tells me that antipsychotics are less effective if you smoke, but yea I dont really see it as a big problem.
I'm about to have a smoke now lol.
I know smoking is bad but I enjoy it. My boyfriend wants me to quit but I dont want to :(Oh well.
I could do with the extra money hehe

I've smoked on Effexor (and all of my other meds) without a problem. I take Zyprexa as well and I don't feel that smoking effects this drug. Of course, ymmv.
