your level of hydration? Generally, I don't drink as much water as I should and I THINK the twitching of my eyelid (+ other muscles) seems to let up a little when I've felt very thirsty and had more liquids during the day.

I think I'm quite dehydrated just because I take ADs. I assume that because they can cause dry mouth, eyes, constipation, etc., they just put you at risk for dehydration?! DOES ANY OF THIS MAKE SENSE TO ANYONE? I may have just figured out my problem. Thanks to all for your earlier comments/suggestions!

Hi Coleen!

Are you getting lots of sleep? My eyelids often start twitching if I don't get enough sleep.

Regards,
Ed.

Are you taking an antihistamine AD? That would cause dryness of mouth. Fondly, Phillipa

Yes! Yes, it makes sense to me! This has been my theory, too, and I think it explains a LOT of side effects for me on Cymbalta, which I think is acting like a diuretic on me. I hinted at this in my response to you on March 2 when I talked about having to pee alot and therefore tweak my supplements. In addition, I am slightly constipated and I usually wake up with a headache (which I think is from being dehydrated). I also have occasional heart palpitations... and eye twitches, too (though not as bad as yours). And my blood pressure went up. (How's yours?)

I think it's important to drink plenty of fluids when you're on Cymbalta (probably some other ADs, too). Make sure that every 2nd to 3rd drink is something OTHER than water (to slow down the diuretic effect of flushing vitamins and minerals from your body -- especially minerals, which are so important for your muscles and nerves) and try to cut back on caffeine. (I've become quite the lemonade drinker at lunch and dinner, instead of iced tea.)

Have you tried the calcium/magnesium supplelments I recommended? I think they (along with a little potassium) help me with my twitching, and the magnesium helps with the constipation, too!
