I so much wanted to like this Med...
For the most part I don't feel too bad, but my Blood pressure has went up significantly even at low dosages.
To be honest I do not feel near as well on Cymbalta as I did on Effexor. I know most of you have thought of it to be evil, but it did work for me.
The main reason I was switching was blood pressure and it went up 20 points since I have been on Cymbalta over the Effexor.
So... Back on E until I can find a new drug. My first Med has been E, so I might have the Doc put me on a straight SSRI.

Unless someone can talk me out of it... I could just up my BP med I suppose. :-)
It has been only 8 days off of E and I just took 1/2 of a dose of the 37.5... Man I feel weird, like someone has there hand around my heart.
I am still on the 30 mgs of Cymbalta per my Doc recommendation for a week to wean back off of C and onto E.
After being off of E for only 8 days, should it take that long to get used to again?

I need to share this with someone! At about 3:00 yesterday (A few hours of taking a small dose of Effexor) I started to feel ABSOLUTELY wonderful. (Besides what I felt at the beginning mentioned in the post above)
Better than I have felt in a while, but definitely better than I have felt in 3 weeks since I started Cymbalta.
I type this today and I still feel pretty good and I haven't even taken any meds yet....
Today I am going to take 25 mgs of Cym and 30 mg of Eff...

I am in a similar situation. I am doing very well with 60 mg Strattera and 40 mg Lexapro. But my bp has gone up since starting the Strattera about 7 months a go. Stattera and Cymbalta both increase norepinephrine which can increase pulse and blood pressure.
Even before starting Strattera, I was on 2 blood pressure meds; Altace (ACE inhibitor) and HCTZ (a diuretic). They both brought the bp down, but then Strattera took it back up. My understanding is that increasing the dose of Altace will not help. I may have to switch to a different bp pill or something else.
If I were you, I would probably try to stay on Effexor, and see if a change in bp medicine will work. I think that this would be better than trying an SSRI at this point since you know that Effexor works.

Thanks Bill... Effexor not only works for me, it works WELL, and has for 3 years.
The BP was being controlled pretty well with my current BP med while I was on Effexor, I guess the Doc was just trying to drop that med altogether.
He has been trying to switch me to Cymbalta for quite some time now, and I am not sure why... He said because of the BP.
I never followed this forum until I started having my recent problems, and the Effexor talk can be quite unnerving.
One part of me says stay with what works, another part says, get off of this Evil drug.
