Just curious, has anybody experimented with combining the two to increase the effectiveness of any benzo. Grapefruit seems to increase the bioavailability of a number of benzos (esp Valium) and other drugs by inhibiting some of the enzymes (i.e. CYP3A4) that metabolize these drugs. It seems to have less effect on clonazepam/xanax, however. I've come across papers suggesting a potential therapeutic benefit in using grapefruit to increase drug bioavailibility. Any experiences?

I wouldn't make grapefruit juice a regular part of your diet if you take cholesterol lowering drugs (statins). Something about that combo can potentially mess up your muscles.

It messes with Buspar too, Ranitidine is another one that causes problems with TCA's and benzo's and probably others. It's too bad because Ranitidine is one of the only things that helps my heartburn.
