I am post menopause and have been on psych meds for a long time--the combo I am on works great and no major setbacks for a year--I take Wellbutrin SA 150 in am, Lexapro 5mg and am weaning off lexapro, Lamictal 150mg twice a day, Remeron 30mg at night and seroquel 300mg at night and klonopin 1 mg a night. Lots of meds I know but I have had no sexual desire for more than two years and I really do not think meds play a big part. Is there anything out there that helps a woman to regain sexual desire? I am only 58 and in a good marriage but I feel sorry for my husband.

I too have been having problems that I intend to address by cutting the offending med out of my regiem. From the meds you mention it could definetly be either lexapro or remeron, both drugs can cause sexual dysfunction. Also, I would look at that very high dose of seroquel. I know this type of stuff is hard to bring up with a pdoc, they tend to think that this is an acceptable side effect. Tell him/her that it is NOT acceptable and make him/her do his/her job!! I guess if it isn't the meds the pdoc should still be able to try some sort of med or treatment. Remember, he/she works for you and it is his/her job to explore with you the options, your quality of life is sometimes in his/her hands. If you can rule out the meds for sure your next step would be to seek a specialist. It might be worth it, we are not here for very long, so what is important to you? my gf tried an herbal remedy of mushrooms. a company called mycomedicals makes a "women's" formula-- it worked so well that she doesnt have to take it any more! i believe she took two capsules a day.
